A translator and interpreter specializing in medical translation, Elena is the director and project manager at EMC Traducciones, in addition to being a translator and proofreader for legal and sworn translations, medical, economic-financial and technical translation teams. With more than five years’ experience in translation and teaching foreign languages, she has four working languages: Spanish, English, French and Italian.

She has always felt a deep love for languages since she was born. Elena was born in Paris and grew up in the French capital city until she moved to Spain with her family, who were partly from Murcia. Once there, she kept training and learning both languages, together with English and Italian in the Translation and Documentation, and Languages Faculties of the University of Murcia, Università degli studi di Bergamo (Italy) and the University of Salamanca. She took a European Master’s Degree in Translation and Intercultural Mediation and started to specialize in medical translation thanks to Bertha Gutiérrez Rodilla, a professor at the University of Salamanca.

In addition to her working languages, Elena is in love with the world’s cultures and Asia in particular. She has been doing karate since she was six and she has also done Chinese classes and a Japanese culture and literature course. She loves travelling and discovering new places with their traditional music, language, cuisine, history, etcetera. In fact, there is always a good excuse to go on a trip and pay a visit to Italian friends, start up new projects in Montreal or have a well-deserved holiday to discover the Land of the Rising Sun.

Furthermore, Elena is the head teacher at EMC Traducciones, where she also trains and coordinates a team of teachers in the Region of Murcia. Apart from her job as a translator, proofreader and interpreter, Elena is a camp leader and an English Foreign Language Teacher, otherwise known as a (TEFL qualified teacher), with more than six years’ experience teaching foreign languages (English, French and Spanish) both in the classroom and in summer camps in Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and Canada. In recent years, she has been teaching face-to-face classes and groups of pre-school and primary school children aged 5 to 12 (Young English Learners), teens and adults, whom she has trained for B1 (PET), B2 (FCE) and C1 (CAE) according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
