Who can translate?

A translator is a qualified professional who has been trained accordingly to carry out a general or specialised translation assignment within the deadlines given by clients. To do this, one of their main skills is their ability to do research and gather information, sample texts in different languages and terminology, and get continuous training, since professional translators are always gathering new information, acquiring sound knowledge and continuously specialising depending on the kind of assignment they work with.

Another essential quality professional translators have is their knowledge of the target language, which is normally their mother tongue. It is obvious that knowing languages is not the only thing that matters when translating, but just another requirement that translators must have in addition to knowing how to use new information technology to help them carry out their research and translation assessments.
